As people place more value on health and well-being, there has been a rise in interest in our wellness offerings from our guests and residents. We have always believed in integrating wellness into all aspects of each property, which is why we engage some amazing experts to help us develop the best seasonal and nutritious food, mindful experiences, engaging movement practices, and exceptional sleep infrastructure into our guest rooms and residences. Just by staying with us, you’re staying well.

Layered on top are a whole host of wellness offerings. Whether that means tapping into all the latest biotech and diagnostics, following ancient wisdom such as Ayurveda and Tibetan Medicine, joining us alone, or meeting a fabulous community of like-minded people on a retreat who you may stay in touch with for life.

High-touch signature therapies

If you’ve been chasing deadlines and juggling commitments for too long, start your vacation off on the right foot by surrendering to the healing ministrations of our spa therapists. With a great mix of heat and water facilities, facials, and signature therapies, every detail of our spa and spa menu is artfully designed to nourish and rejuvenate.

For example, for recovery after skiing or outdoor pursuits, enjoy a thermal journey with an Alpine twist at Six Senses Spa Crans-Montana. The thermal area offers multi-sensory experiences with four saunas, steam, and a cold plunge nestled within curved walls as if carved directly into the mountain wall. Floating under the 14,000 hanging wooden icicles in the indoor-out pool reflects the sun’s rays filtering through the birches of the outdoor garden. Take to the water at Six Senses Spa Douro Valley while immersing in the floor-to-ceiling garden views and resetting the mind with underwater sound therapy, mood-boosting LED chromotherapy, rejuvenating cryotherapy, and hot/cold therapy in the dedicated Vitality Suite. If you’re bringing a dog, check out our paw paw cleansing and massages for your furry friend too!

All of our spas offer signature treatments, such as the Dreamcatcher journey, which features a personalized, full body massage to relieve any muscle aches after a busy day seeing the sights, skiing the pistes, or out on the water, paving the way for a peaceful slumber. You can also dive into the healing waters of Watsu at many of our spas, a therapeutic technique that soothes both physical and emotional conditions by softening the muscles and opening energy pathways to release stored emotions.

Locally inspired treatments

At the interactive Alchemy Bar, you can create your own scrubs and masks from herbs, fruits and spices grown in our organic gardens. Our senses and preferences change over time, so this is a great way to concoct a potion that’s just right for you to use it in a treatment or take it home with you.

Another way to ease into your vacation is by tapping into local flora and cultural wisdoms through a locally inspired spa treatment. These are designed specifically for each spa, incorporating delicate fragrances, luxurious textures, and a cultural twist. Try the Ah-un treatment at Six Senses Spa Kyoto which is inspired by Zen philosophy, a traditional Bhutanese dotsho (hot stone bath) with the medicinal herb Khempa in any of our spas at Six Senses Bhutan, a Vietnamese bamboo massage with poultices of homegrown herbs at Six Senses Spa Con Dao, or a Heated Lava Shell Massage with healing exotic oils at Six Senses Spa Fiji

Everywhere, we weave in a sense of locality. Go on a Journey to Repose in a spa inspired by a traditional Caribbean fishing village on the isle of spice and serenity at Six Senses La Sagesse, Grenada. Enjoy an Arabian twist on a traditional Hammam with sumptuous oud and myrrh or date seed at Six Senses Spa Southern Dunes, The Red Sea.  Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon in the Seychelles features five double treatment villas (Rock, Cave, Ocean, Nature and Floating) that reflect the island’s eco-system, colors, textures, and themes and Six Senses Spa Yao Noi rebalances your senses in a Thai-inspired long house and individual treatment salas set in the tropical hillside. You can’t visit Rome without experiencing our new take on ancient Roman Bathing at Six Senses Spa Rome – we’ll see you in the frigidarium, brrr.

Talking of going back to the roots, why not head to India and experience yoga and Ayurveda in their truest form at Six Senses Vana, or on the fort walls at Six Senses Spa Fort Barwara, which also offers a special Tiger’s Eye journey, where expert therapists will use this powerful crystal in a full body massage journey that includes stretches to tone the nervous system, breathwork, visualization, and healing sound to restore a sense of inner peace and well-being.

High-tech fitness and recovery

When devising a fitness plan, we say, mix it up and have some fun. It can be about reps, tracking stats, improving strength and mobility, or monitoring performance, but also (and we think it should) be a celebration of what your body has learned to do and loves to do.

The fitness world is a jungle of advice, which can often be conflicting, especially for women. The latest research suggests that diet and exercise should be tailored to your hormones and monthly cycles. Meditation and yoga nidra

Just as we look after your body, we nurture your mind. Guided by one of our expert practitioners, you can go on a journey of yoga nidra to aid a blissful slumber, loving kindness meditation to open the heart, chakra meditation to align your energy, GOM meditation for greater self-awareness, Shamata mediation to slow a racing mind, or walking mediation to experience stillness in motion. You won’t walk out afterwards; you will float out.

Going solo

If you want to dedicate some time to kickstart a new you, why not incorporate a personalized wellness program into your stay? Contrary to what you might think, having an amazing time away and focusing on your health or weight are not mutually exclusive. It can also provide the motivation you need to continue long after the vacation is over, especially with the support of a personalized aftercare program to provide guidance and accountability. A Wellness Screening, which uses non-invasive smart tech to screen for stresses and strains on your body or mind, along with a general discussion about your lifestyle factors or concerns, helps our experts recommend a bespoke action plan. If you enjoy the “we” in wellness, expert-led Wellness Retreats are designed to provide much-needed space and time to reconnect with your inner peace and help you thrive when you're back in the outer world but as part of a like-minded, warm-hearted temporary tribe.
