Six Senses Samui is very active in the community and participates regularly in events to raise awareness for sustainability related topics such as Zero Waste, Circularity, Local Sourcing and Plastic Free.
Community engagement lies at the core of Six Senses Samui. As active participants in our local area, we are committed to supporting and educating through various environmental initiatives, including beach clean-ups, sustainability education for local schools, community markets, and tree planting. We also supply hospitals and schools with essential equipment. Addressing the global plastic crisis, we launched a plastic ban campaign with our team to say no to plastic, starting with stainless steel water bottles and cotton bags. We have also implemented a plastic ban policy for our suppliers, urging them to avoid single-use plastics and adopt more sustainable alternatives such as cloth bags or reusable containers.
On the final Sunday of every month, Six Senses actively participates in a green market, joining hands with the local community and other hospitality organizations. This event is held at the Greenlight Café in Fisherman's Village and focuses on promoting organic products that support the local community and raise awareness about environmentally-friendly produce. We bring the "good stuff" from our Farm on the Hill, including herbs, veggies, eggs from our happy hens and ducks, as well as charcoal produced from recycled wood. Alongside these, our skilled chefs offer yummy, healthy food and drinks.
As part of our commitment to the community, we pledge to donate 10 percent of all profits directly to local community initiatives.
