February 5, 2020 - First impressions count when it comes to “Emotional Hospitality”. Guests at Six Senses Zil Pasyon receive a personalized welcome note, which is hand-drawn by their GEM. Six Senses Fiji has introduced wooden key cards.
Guests arriving at Six Senses Zil Pasyon, which is located on the private island of Félicité in the Seychelles, have often traveled for long hours to get there. The resort’s Guest Experience Makers (GEMs) ensure that every little detail is carefully considered to welcome weary travelers and continue to provide great service during their stay.
“We really want to create unique experiences and a memorable stay for each and every one of our guests,” explains Shania, one of our GEMs. “This starts with helping them feel at home when we show them into their villa. Every new arrival is a new adventure and a new experience for us and our guests.”
To start this new chapter, Shania and her team make a small drawing on a clean chalkboard, usually with a tropical-themed note to match the island, and finish it with a personalized welcome note.
“It is a small yet creative detail that makes everyone smile as we put our heart and imagination into it every time,” says Shania. “And of course no welcome note is ever the same, as it is inspired on the spot. Even our repeater guests will never get the same sunrise or sunset, but they will always enjoy our warmest welcome.”
Meanwhile, 8,000 miles away at Six Senses Fiji, the “Bula” welcome is wooden … but in a good way! Working on the brand-wide initiative to be Plastic Free in 2022, Six Senses Fiji is taking small steps everywhere they can to rid the resort of all types of plastic. That means out with plastic key cards and in with sleek, wooden discs that are great to look at and even better for the environment.
Marketing communications manager Rose Kavanagh explains, “Six Senses likes to be one step ahead of the game when it comes to sustainability initiatives. That’s why we are proud to be thinking outside the box and focusing on more than just single-use plastic. Single use is slowly on its way out, but there’s plenty more to be done, so by eliminating all types of plastic at properties, we are continuing to keep the ball rolling in the bid to be completely Plastic Free in the year 2022.”
