Sustainability on Krabey Island
Sustainability is at the heart of our core values, focused on conserving the native flora and fauna for generations to come, embracing the unique culture and traditions of Cambodia, employing local hosts, and giving back to the local community. Our hosts maintain small herb gardens that blend into the island's natural vegetation and landscape. On the mainland, we also tend a 40,000-square-foot (3,700 square meter) organic farm producing much of our farm-to-table dinners and spa ingredients. Environmental Responsibility
All Six Senses resorts produce still and sparkling drinking water for guests and hosts to minimize the carbon footprint that results from the packaging and transport of water - it tastes great too. At Earth Lab, our center for environmental education and zero waste, we upcycle waste materials into new products. This limits our negative impact on the local environment while continuing to increase our operational efficiency.

Biodiversity Research
As a result of sustainable planning, our resort blends into the natural vegetation, creating an environment that has become a paradise for birds and butterflies on land, and marine life underwater.
A recent biodiversity study of our island conducted by local Fishing Cat Ecological Enterprise identified endangered Indochinese Silvered Langurs, water monitors, and 41 species of bird including hornbills, dark-side flycatchers, blue rock thrushes, Asian brown flycatchers, stork-billed kingfishers, and yellow-vented bulbuls to name a few!
Under the guidance and recommendations of experts, we will be using these results to care for the natural habitat and maximize its value for the wildlife we share the island with.
Beyond the island and into the ocean, we have launched the Reef Protection Training Course run by our partner Khmer Dive Group, which helps participants gain more knowledge about coral reefs, the anthropogenic impacts on reefs, coral bleaching, and how to experience the under water world responsibly. Furthermore, we integrate our conservation initiatives into our Grow With Six Senses children’s activities to encourage future generations to become responsible individuals too.
Social Responsibility
We work hand in hand with our local Khmer communities to support school programs, participate in development initiatives, facilitate health and safety, and learning and training leading to a brighter future.

Access to education
In collaboration with AllKids, an NGO registered in Cambodia, we support and educate disadvantaged children from nearby villages through scholarships, financial assistance for equipment and materials, and career orientation. This is an ‘eyes open’ program for grade 12 students to learn about the variety of career opportunities available, and gain understanding from the personal life experiences of our hosts. In 2023, we supported 556 children to gain improved access to education.

Water For All
We provide water filters to AllKids, and collaborate with them to supply clean water to Ream Primary School. The project included installing a 4 meter-high concrete stand accommodating a 5,000-liter water tank with a solar pump to reduce pumping costs and increase the amount of water held in storage. Thanks to this project, 1,926 students gained access to safe drinking water and sanitation.

Waste Awareness
In collaboration with Ream Primary School, we have launched the Plastic Free Project to help teach students how to separate plastic waste. Additionally, our Plastic Back Home initiative, in collaboration with AllKids, collects and transports plastic waste to our mainland office, where it is then transported to our recycling partner alongside the separated plastic from the primary school.
