When to visit Fort Barwara

The world's largest free literary festival takes place at Diggi Palace in Jaipur.

The eleventh month in the Tamil lunar calendar. This time is considered very auspicious for occasions such as marriage, house warmings, upanayanam (sacred thread ceremony) etc. Magha month begins during the dawn of the day for heaven. In lunar calendars, Magha is the eleventh month and starts on either New Moon or Full Moon day.

We kick off the Holi celebrations at Six Senses Fort Barwara with a prayer at our Radha Krishna temple. Divine love is often honored during Holi, adding a spiritual element to the festivities.

The Holika Dahan ritual takes place the night before Holi. The lighting of a bonfire symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. We invite our guests to participate in this ancient tradition, which gives a sacred and meaningful start to our Holi celebrations at the resort. The night is filled with folk music, dance, and enjoyable cultural experiences.

The next morning, we invite our guests to join in the fun, splashing colors and water, dancing to the rhythm of the music, and savoring authentic Indian street food and local delicacies.

Chauth ka Barwara Temple: Special Navratri prayers and rituals are held in the month of Chaitra and Ashwin. Also in the month of Magha, on the fourth day, a big mela (fair) begins and lasts for 15 days. Couples visit the temple for blessings of a happy life. New-born babies come for their ritual first hair cut.

Ranthambore National Park remains open from the months of October to June, with the winter months (October to December) being the best time to visit. October to April are the best months to visit Ranthambore to spot tigers.

Navratri, Durga Puja, Kojagiri, Dasra, and Diwali are all festivals celebrated in the seventh month of Ashwin.
