Beauty and balance in every bite

Did you know that weight lives within you both physically and mentally? Stress can be a major obstacle to physical well-being, which is why our tailored Weight Management programs offer a holistic approach without the “fat camp” or “fitness boot camp” regime. This means you can manage your weight (up or down), kick-start a new lifestyle and enjoy your vacation, all at the same time.

Dare we say it, you’ll actually like it?

Dedicating time and space to focus on your wellness goals can provide the motivation you need to continue long after the vacation is over, especially with the support of a personalized aftercare program to provide guidance and accountability. Connecting with like-minded people who share these goals provides an additional sense of community and chance to make new friends. You’ll also learn a range of new skills, from cooking and nutrition to stress management and even better sleep. Yoga and meditation become new friends too.

Reset your intention and manifest the magic

Every stay at Six Senses Vana includes full-board accommodation with all meals provided and prepared with guided nutrition; daily retreat activities such as yoga, meditation, workshops, and functional fitness; wellness consultation and screening; daily treatment; airport transfers; and attire to wear.

The Weight Management program helps you gain control of your weight and relationship with food by treating the root causes, some of which may surprise you. You’ll find out what's best for you based on your dosha type and current reality and receive the right guidance to keep up the good work once you return home.

Six Senses Vana’s Wellness Director Dr. Jitendra Varshney explains, “Ayurveda is all about balancing the system, not just treating the symptoms.” Understanding the rhythms of these doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and how they influence you, means you can steer your activities and meals to become happier, healthier, and more productive. “Once your channels are clear, it helps to improve circulation of blood, oxygen, and energy.”

According to Dr. Jayachandran, the retreat’s Head Ayurveda Clinician, “A dynamic equilibrium of Vata, Pitta and Kapha is essential for the proper functioning of various organs. Any imbalance of the dosha or bioenergy can disturb the energetic properties (gunas) of the mind – sattva (consciousness), rajas (activity), and tamas (stability) – which can lead to an imbalanced relationship with eating. Understanding the imbalance at the cellular level is essential to managing weight gain and to plan a proper physical treatment, incorporating diet, relaxation techniques and activities such as yoga and fitness.”

In India, food has always been seen as an offering to the divine. Cuisine at Six Senses Vana seeks to create a new paradigm where satisfying your palate, your experience of food, and your physical health are all seen as equally important. Portions are judicious but you won’t go hungry while still shifting a surprising amount of weight. Dr. Jayachandran recommends an initial two-week stay at Six Senses Vana, “It is a unique place to calm your mind through a blend of ancient wisdoms incorporating Ayurveda, yoga, Tibetan Medicine, acupuncture, reflexology, and also various modern therapies for deeper inner healing. At the end of your stay, you will feel more energetic. There are other benefits too, such as greater clarity of thoughts and enhanced quality of sleep. You will leave with a better insight into the dos and don’ts in daily life for longer-lasting results.”
