Life made easy with little ones

From the moment you are welcomed through the doors by our concierge team, Six Senses Residences Courchevel is a family-friendly home-from-home. With apartments from two to five bedrooms, many include twin bed or bunk bed configurations for children. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living with a dining area, large lounging area, private balconies, and terraces. Baby sitting and nanny services are available throughout the day and night; just let us know before you arrive.

Courchevel 1850 is much more than a ski resort. It’s a winter wonderland with tobogganing, teepees, huskies, and cheesy fondues too!

Ski from three

Depending on your child, the general rule of thumb is that kids can ski from around three years of age, with ski boots starting at size 22/23. With children growing out of skiwear and equipment from one season to the next, alongside a full range of adult fashion, the on-site Ski Set shop also offers a range of equipment rentals, which will be transported to our ski lodge right by La Croisette lift. When you’re ready to ski, our shuttle service whizzes you up to the lodge, where our concierge is on hand to help the kids in and out of their boots. The shuttle service is available all day, which comes as a big relief if someone has forgotten a glove or helmet.

Ski happy, ski fun

Our partners Oxygene and First Tracks both offer private instruction in a range of languages, with Oxygene also able to provide group lessons for kids and teens. Both will meet you at our ski lodge, which is right next to the gondola and button lift to the beginner’s trails. It’s better to start with skiing and wait until you child is six to eight years old for asymmetrical sports such as snowboarding, but the instructors will be able to tailor your lessons to suit your needs. Ski lessons help your children improve their motor skills, balance, and concentration but the friendly instructors keep the focus on the fun. After just a few mornings, they’ll be snow-ploughing and attempting their first turns. Our ski lodge is always open for a hot drink and warm up.

At the top of the Ariondaz gondola, you’ll find the Western Park with covered magic carpets, gentle slopes, and a cowboys and Indians theme with teepees. For teens and keen freestylers, the Family Park is a wonderland of rails, tables and jumps, moguls, boardercross, a big air bag and more.

Beyond skiing

Six Senses Residences Courchevel now offers a host of children’s activities beyond skiing, including forest hikes, mountain yoga, aqua fit and fun, breathe and stretch, and jump rope in the fitness studio.

At Six Senses Spa, the treatment menu has been specially created as part of our Grow With Six Senses wellness philosophy. After a day on the slopes, treat the kids to a back, head, or full body massage. You can even add a hand or foot scrub plus nail polish application with some fun colors. We also offer parent and child treatments where you can spend some relaxing time together and indulge in a soothing top to toe massage, with or without a mani-pedi.

From spa menus to food menus, breakfast is made easy, with a children’s hamper delivered to your room each morning by 7:30 am, taking one extra step out of getting everyone dressed, fueled, and ready to go. It arrives filled with fresh fruit, milk, cereal, and croissants, plus cold cuts, and sweet snacks to keep little tummies happy all morning on the slopes. Food delivery is also available from a selection of local restaurants, and there’s also the option to arrange a private chef – a fun way to introduce little ones to a traditional Savoyard fondue.

Luge and laughter

The Courchevel 1850 luge run starts at the top of the Grangettes gondola in the town center and descends through the trees into Courchevel Village 1550, where there are plenty of pretty cafés for a chocolat (or vin) chaud! The track is free to use, you can rent a toboggan from our ski shop. Just ride the gondola back up to our residences when you’re done.

Pony treks

A range of horse and pony riding lessons and treks through the Alpine forests can be booked through a local family ranch. You can also enjoy a family horse-drawn carriage excursion through Courchevel 1850.

Night lights

Another fun activity is night skiing. Verdons by Night opens on Wednesday evenings, enabling you to ski the lower blue piste after dark, lit by the stars (and a few floodlights to keep you on track). Make sure you’re wearing goggles with lighter lenses as you won’t see anything with a black lens.

Or swap your skis for wheels and slide down to Courchevel Village on an après-ski flat bike adventure, with professional and certified mountain bike guides by Espace VTT.

Inside the Forum, you’ll also find an ice rink, next to the bowling alley on the ground floor. Here you can hire skates and practice your best spins. If you’re lucky, you can catch a local ice hockey game.
