The most popular time to visit the eternal city is during Spring (Mid-March to May) and Autumn (Mid-September to November), however, Rome makes for a great travel destination year-round, it just depends on what you’re looking to experience in the city.
Rome is simply magical during spring. The blossoming flowers, the spring sun that enlightens the city’s landmark like a beautiful painting and the festivities of Easter and Rome’s birthday that calls out to tourists and locals alike.
Summer is the peak season for Rome, it’s hot, it’s crowded and it’s buzzing with activities. With around 10 to 11 hours of sunshine per day and almost no rainfall, the summer months see plenty of open-air events and concerts organized around the city.
As the weather gets pleasantly cooler, Rome welcomes the Autumn with multiple cultural events celebrating art, music, theatre and food. It's mesmerizing to witness the changing colors of the surrounding while strolling around town.
Although the city quietens down a little, travellers braving the colder days earn greater sightseeing experiences. Festive markets are strewn across the city and just after Christmas the sale season makes winter the best time for shopping.
