This tour begins with a visit to the Temple of Apollo Didyma, a sanctuary and ritualistic site for ancient residents of Miletus. The temple is one of the largest of the ancient world, twice the size of the Athens Parthenon, and home to an oracle second only to Delphi. The second stop is Miletus, once the greatest Greek city in the East. In addition to its wealth, the city was distinguished for its contributions to literature, science, and philosophy, and is considered to be the birthplace of rational thought. The final destination is Priene, a picturesquely-placed ancient city with beautiful structures and incredible views. A delicious picnic lunch and refreshments are provided.
