Southern Dunes, The Red Sea
Al Sadu weaving has just been recognized by UNESCO one of the Kingdom’s important intangible cultural assets. The knowledge about this ancient craft is typically handed down through generations of Bedouin women, across different Gulf countries, who still use a traditional loom to weave their cloth. The wool is worked into complex geometric patterns with bright colors often contrasting with darker ones.
