As the first LEED Platinum resort in Saudi Arabia, our electricity is completely run by solar energy, so you can enjoy an eco-friendly vacation without worrying about your impact on the environment. Our architecture is designed to maximize natural light, and minimize energy requirements, with smart filtration systems for superior indoor air quality and copper-silver ionization treated pools to eliminate chemicals. We also have own water plant to bottle still and sparkling water and follow a plastic-free policy, which means you'll be eating fresh food from local farms every day and drinking from reusable bottles. We are dedicated to the preservation of our planet and its resources, and this is reflected in every aspect of our resort, from our thermal energy storage system to electric buggies, and intelligent control and automation systems.

Arabian Red Fox
Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea has selected its symbol of conservation: the Arabian Red Fox, which is native to the Hajar and Dhofar Mountains around us but is vulnerable due to habitat degradation. Working with local artisans, we have produced a fun and quirky soft toy named Duney from earth-friendly materials. Check out Duney’s “sadu” scarf, which is woven from wool in bright geometric patterns, paying homage to local Bedouin traditions. All proceeds from soft toy sales go to rewilding projects in collaboration with local partners.

Umluj Sadu Weavers
Collaborating with two lady artisans in the village of Al Harra, we promote the rich tradition of sadu weaving to our guests and hosts by enabling them to showcase and sell their products in our Artisan Pods. Natural materials including locally sourced wool is spun into yarn and used to weave intricate products including rugs, fashion accessories, and table coverings. Going forward we will be supporting their entrepreneurial efforts by helping them to set up their own online marketplaces and social media content.
