Blending into Island life

Pushing the boundaries of sustainability begins with our approach to mindful architecture and continues with efficient engineering, local sourcing, and authentic guest experiences involving our island community. The sun shines happily in the Caribbean so all villas and guestrooms are equipped with solar panels to provide a low-carbon source of hot water. We bottle drinking water on site to eliminate the need for plastic water bottles, and take a permaculture approach to landscaping, giving back to the land via composting and growing food for our kitchens in return. Full of enticing Grenadian scents, herbs and spices, the Earth Lab is our sustainability hub for guests, where we offer interactive workshops for making products with natural ingredients and learning how to reduce consumption and support the communities and ecosystems that we live within. A popular experience is our glass crushing and kiln for upcycling glass bottles into glass art to take home. Working directly with our community, we employ and purchase locally and support positive-impact projects through our Sustainability Fund.

Social Responsibility

A fixed percentage (0.5 percent) of the total resort revenue, along with guest donations and proceeds of the sales of our hotel soft toy mascot, Caribo the green turtle, go directly into Six Senses La Sagesse Sustainability Fund. This fund is dedicated to conservation and community projects, the first of which has been established to support children’s literacy within communities on our island.
